Blurry pictures. Cold feet, warm heart.

Coins
Behold the ravages of age! In money form!
March 16
Moth(ra)
You can't tell from this photo, but this moth is the size of a city and battled Godzilla. With lazers. This ACTUALLY happened.
March 17
Birthday Glove
To my lovely friend Limey for her art and glee and constant companionship. Go team Ladyfolk!
13 Million Years
I had the most Indie-music experience of my life while opening and listening to this cd, a single written for me by Jared and Ina. It's about a shark who will wait 13 million years for its true love to return. I listened to it four times in a row. Then I sang it walking to the bus in the morning. I even love the rubber band that was wrapped around it.
March 18
Baked Goods
If you need me, I'll be in the kitchen wearing a wrinkled tshirt and baking the lemon poppyseed muffins OF LOVE!
March 19
Ghost Writer
This photo was supposed to represent the thrilling potential of a pen and a blank sheet of paper; the sublime experience of writing, my one and only. But after giving it that title all I can say is "He's a ghost! And he writes to us!"
March 20
Forbidden Love
If you ever want to read the really juicy parts of a romance novel, open to about 3/4 of the way through. That's usually where they are. Also, for kicks, read the last sentence, as it's usually hopelessly trite and often insulting (to women).
March 21
Spring
In the northern hemisphere, this is the first day of spring. Down south it's just another autumn day. This hat has penguins on it.

February
Just because me and photoblog weren't together for a while doesn't mean we don't still love you. It's not your fault. We just had some things we had to talk about. I'm sorry photoblog didn't come to your little league game. Can we make it up to you with some ice cream?
Postcard
Well, I do!
Brown and White
I gots me some tan.
Bamboo
If Tolkien's elves lived in China, they'd totally live in bamboo forests, which would be boss as hell.
Sleepy
Koalas sleep about 18 hours a day. Even though wombats and koalas are the result of divergent evolution, they behave more like sloths than anything else.
Cutest infestation ever.
Sea-Fever
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over
By John Masefield (1878-1967).

March 8 - March 14
I continue to still be back, baby!
March 8
Book Review
HG Wells could not look more pleased if had he drank that Australian wine himself.
March 9
City on a Slant
Melbourne, you are a sprawling metropolis, and for that I both despise and salute you.
March 10
Sightseeing
Somewhere along the world famous Great Ocean Road I realized I was sitting on the wrong side of the car.
March 11
Apostles
Don't know much about geology...but I do know that the ocean takes no prisoners, it just pounds away until everything is gone and digested. And do you know what it feels like tonight? Stone monoliths!
March 12
Shell
This shell was in the process of turning into sand. Now it is in the process of sitting at my desk looking pretty and not turning into sand for a really long time.
March 13
Grime
Sometimes when its 98 degrees your shoes get all gross from sweat and dirt and you sort of lose your will to live, or at least to wear shoes.
March 14

All I can say is Post-modernism forever! 4-eva!
Happy Pi(e) day.

March 1- March 7
I'm back, baby!
March 1
Doom
In order to survive in a nitrogen-poor soil, some plants have become carnivorous, such as the venus fly trap and the pitcher plant. They use pheremones to attract insects and then dissolve and feast on their crunchy, delicious flesh.
Interesting fact: lightning storms lay down heaps of nitrogen.
March 2
Shiny
In this picture I am wearing all of my favorite things.
March 3
Seven
My host-mother's grandson (my host cousin?) looking far more angelic than he actually is.
March 4
Hanging Rock
No, but that's some pretty awesome cooled magma.
March 5
My Favorite Plum
That's the name of a song by Suzanne Vega. It's not one of her best, but I've listened to it probably eight hundred times. My best friend and I listened to that CD on repeat for a good several years, because between us we owned maybe three.
March 6
Letters from home
These have arrived just in time to make my day each time. Heartfelt love and thanks.
March 7
And Then....
The phrase, "and then I found five dollars" has never been quite so meaningful as today.
